MIA is a Melbourne-based studio working within bridal, defined by silhouette, proportion and fabrication.
The studio began through a personal search. An attempt to find a gown that felt considered, modern and aligned with a fashion perspective rather than traditional bridal. That process became the foundation of the atelier.
Over the years, MIA has worked closely with brides through custom and couture commissions, refining its approach to fit, structure and silhouette. This experience continues to inform the work today, translating ideas into garments that feel resolved, intentional and wearable.
What began as a mother and daughter duo in Melbourne, Australia has since expanded into a broader network of artisans and technical specialists across garment production. As the studio grows, the ability to develop work within a consistent design language, while maintaining a close, design-led approach.
At the same time, the studio evolves alongside its founder. While building MIA, our head designer is also raising her young family, an experience that subtly shapes the rhythm and perspective of the work.
MIA now moves toward a collection-led practice, with annual releases and smaller drops throughout the year. Each collection builds on a growing body of work, allowing ideas to develop over time rather than as singular outcomes.

This collection is a study of quiet emotion and modern romance, moving between sculptural tailoring, softened structure and expressive texture. Across gowns, separates and accessories, contrasting fabrications create a sense of depth: crisp taffeta, sheer layers, fluid satin, soft tulle, lace, metallic finishes and tactile embellishment.
Each piece holds space for the bride’s inner world. Her stillness, her strength and her voice.

Core Edits is an evolving selection of MIA gowns, slowly accumulated through years of custom, couture and made-to-order work.
Rather than belonging to a single seasonal release, these pieces form part of the studio’s ongoing design language. They are gowns that have been tested, refined and returned to over time, chosen for their strength of silhouette, proportion and wearability.

Every Mia Ateliers gown is designed and developed in our Fitzroy atelier in Melbourne.
Working alongside our experienced studio team and trusted network of artisans, each collection is thoughtfully refined through draping, pattern making, sampling and craftsmanship before it reaches a bride. Our atelier is both a creative workspace and a place for private appointments, where contemporary bridal design meets considered, hands-on craftsmanship.
