what is the process of getting my wedding dress from Mia ateliers?

Please see our process outlined here.

Do you have ready-to-wear dresses?

Yes we do! You can browse our collection of “La Beige “ gowns here.

Do you have some samples of your previous work?

Yes, we are incredibly proud of our past creations! You can see

some of our previous work here.

How many people can I bring to my appointments?

You can bring up to 3 family members and friends to your

consultation and final fittings.

What happens if my weight changes?

Fluctuations in weight is completely normal. As our dresses are custom-made, we create a dress to fit your specific body measurements.

We completely understand that bodies change over time and that is why we have our dress fitting and alterations. This ensures that we are keeping up-to-date with your body and making any changes that are necessary.

Do you cater for interstate brides?

YES! We are able to accommodate interstate brides. We provide a slightly altered experience for interstate brides. These dresses are at a reduced cost to our standard dresses as you are not able to experience all our fittings. We have experience in this with many brides throughout 2020 and 2021, so you can rest at ease knowing your wedding dress will arrive in perfect

condition.

- How does it work?

With our help over Zoom, we need you to measure yourself; alternatively you

can also get your measurements done at your local seamstress for a small fee.

This will allow us to create your dress tailored to your measurements. Once you receive your dress, you may need to get it altered slightly if your measurements have changed.

Rest assured your dress will be crafted to a high quality and only needs very

minor alterations (if any)!

I'm not sure about what I want. How does your design process work?

Deciding on a wedding dress can be overwhelming. Not to worry as we’ll be

there for your every step of the way!

The design process begins with a Bespoke consultation, where we can discuss your likes/dislikes, inspiration, themes, fit, and wedding day details. Then at our first fitting, we’ll take your measurements and continue getting to know each other. We can show you popular styles based on your preferences and do some

sketching from there.

We find that some of our brides have a better idea of their preferences after they have gone through a few rounds of dress shopping. So don’t feel restricted, go try those dresses you’ve seen online and see if you like how they fit on you.

It’s all a part of the process and will help with the design journey.

TIMING

How far ahead should I book in?

We recommend that you book in with us 6 to 9 months prior to your wedding.

This allows us ample time to design your dress, have two fittings to ensure the dress fits you like a glove, and get the dress to you with plenty time to spare before your wedding day.

If your wedding date is less than 4 months away, please send us an email at miaateliersx@gmail.com

How long does it take for a custom wedding dress ?

Creating a wedding dress from scratch takes about 6 – 9 months. That time

frame includes fabric sourcing, pattern making, mock-ups, fittings, and finishing touches.

However, if your wedding date is sooner than 6 months, please get in touch with us. We might be able to sneak you in. Please note that a rush fee may apply to

cover extra costs on fabric orderings, labour overtime and other aspects to make sure you get your wedding dress in time for the big day.

Kindly note, we have a strict cut off time of 2 months – if your wedding date is sooner than 2 months, unfortunately we will not be able to accept your booking.

What is the price range?

Custom wedding suits and dresses can cost anywhere from $2,000– $6,000,

depending on the complexity of the design, fabric costs, and other factors. You can get a more tailored quote for your dress by getting in touch with us.

The above price includes all our generous fittings which ensure that you won't have any hidden alteration costs once you receive your dress. This is the biggest benefit when getting your dress made for you, its actually made FOR YOU!

SHIPPING

How much is shipping?

Our interstate brides are charged an additional $50 for shipping.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

You'll be trying on multiple dresses so it's best to come prepared. For a seamless appointment, please wear a non-padded bra; and prepare any undergarments or shapewear that you plan on wearing on your wedding day.

This is not compulsory, but will help you focus on the visual of the dresses and get a sense of how you feel in them. If you’re not sure what undergarments you’ll

be wearing on the day, no stress! You can wear your regular clothes so you can get changed easily.

Are there hidden costs for fittings/alterations?

Not at Mia Ateliers! Custom dresses are slightly different to regular wedding

dresses.

It’s common for normal wedding dresses to exclude alterations costs from their retail price. Brides would have to bring their dresses to other seamstresses to make alterations that can cost anywhere from $500 to $1000.

Our custom-made wedding dresses are quoted to include a dress fitting and alterations inclusive to ensure that your dress fits perfectly. Any additional fittings incur a charge of $200 per session.

Rest assured that your dress will be crafted specifically to your measurements, so it will be the perfect fit for you.

Is a custom wedding dress more affordable than a regular wedding

dress?

The cost of a wedding dress can fluctuate depending on designs, fabrics, alterations, etc. There’s no guarantee that an off-the-rack dress will be cheaper than a custom-dress and vice versa. That’s why it is important that you make sure to account for the cost of the ready-made wedding dress and alterations

when you compare pricing.
